"And remember, it's fun to stay alive"
I find modeling really relaxing and easier to focus on than 2D stuff but at the same time it takes 2x as long. But then again I don't think I'll get many anyway due to the price tag ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Guess I'll post some details anyway
Models are posted to my sketchfab so no worries about not having a 3d viewer!
prices: 100$-250$+ (The bare minimum would probably be 80$) This is charged by the hour, half the estimate must be paid upfront.
prices vary greatly based on:
what the model is used for
Do you want a model just to look at? or to use in a game/animation?
If you want to have a normal map
this adds high poly detail to a low poly model. While most normal maps add to the price significantly, stuff like patterns/markings can be easily made in photoshop.
If the model needs a rig [Needed for posing]
Simple or complex? Does it need controllers?(applies to Maya users only)
Complexity
Does the character wear clothes/have a lot of accessories?
Along with the above info, please provide:
front/back reference
what you want the final pose to look like(If you choose not to have a rig it will be A-posed)
Email so I can send wips/invoice
Turnaround time is 2-3 weeks depending on how much other work I have. I'm only taking 2 right now

I think that's everything? feel free to ask any questions you may have

FA+

Shame though on not many probably commissioning the 3D part.
You can always run your models through Meshlab which is free http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/ There's a dropdown menu that will show you any issues with the model (it's on my home computer - I can look up what it's called there). If there are any issues, you can send the file to netfabb https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/ which will auto-correct what it can! It doesn't always work but I'd say 90% of the time it fixes any weird issues with the 3D model that would cause it to print incorrectly.
(Also I can't recommend my old university site enough. http://libguides.library.kent.edu/3d there are ton of tutorials as well as other free software you might find useful! Obviously you can't use their service but I still direct people to this site when I'm helping to prepare files for printing!
