Devastating Blow to Technology

From the Desk of Jack the Gorilla....
My friends, I have learned some sad news that has put me in a funk all week. This month will mark the production of the Final VCR. The last company producing them has announced they will end production.
I for one have been forced to spend a little money and stock up with two extras to hold on to.
And before you say so what, let this bitter bitter ape point out, I still find the technology superior to DVR's.
You can archive a physical copy! I tape my favorite show, or special, boom, I can set it on the shelf for whenever I want to watch it.
I can throw that tape in a backpack and take it over to my friends house to watch. Can't do that with DVR.
Then of course I still have dozens (bordering on a hundred) beloved films, cartoons and b-movies that have never been released on DVD or Bluray. (Although next month I finally get my Blu-ray of Buckaroo Banzai across the 8th Dimension)
So this ape is sad and binged on some nostalgic purchases on ebay. What does everyone else think?

Sucks too it was the only means by which to record things, I've got quite a few lost series notably "Bucky O'Hare" and "Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys" that I can only watch now on taped VHS. Forget DVD and Blu Ray these never even got a Home VHS release.
