An interesting change

So, being apart of the furry world has been interesting. It's a lot more than what I believed it to be 2 months ago. I only looked at it as weird and all about sex and porn and all that. But now I look at it differently.
I've been with my boyfriend for over a year now and we've been through a lot. More than any couple should that early in a relationship. But we've been there for each other through it all. I knew he was apart of this about 2 months into our relationship and wanted nothing to do with it. I explained to him my views on it and we left it at that until January this year.
We were going through some hard times dealing with a "friend" who let us move into her apartment while she was out of town. After being lied to and taken for fools and robbed, we left that place but it put a dent in our relationship. We became distant with each other after that and started fighting because of him being a furry. Things got bad and I thought we were done for good but we worked things out. I love this man more than I can describe and I wanted it to work. I couldn't lose him. He means the world to me.
After our last fight, I started to view more art and look more into the furry world and it began to grow on me.
I said some pretty harsh things during our fights and coming out to him about this was very hard because of the things I had said. I thought he would be mad at me and put me down for putting him down. But no. He was excited. Happy that I had agreed to join him. He didn't have to hide it all anymore and we could do this together.
It's made our relationship so much stronger and more interesting. We have something to do together now. To talk about now.
And lastly, it's made me happier. I'm finally apart of something that I can enjoy. My whole life I've been the black sheep and pushed aside as I didn't share the same interests as others around me, but being apart of this, I feel like I can be myself around people who are like me in some ways.
I thought I would share my story about how I became a furry. May not be interesting but it means a lot to me. It's made me and my amazing boyfriend happier and our relationship so much stronger.
