Yes, I have an elk pelt that is being tanned. But, EVERY part of that elk was used for something. There was no waste. It was not for trophy hunting. That, I hate.
Some hunting has to happen, whether we like it or not. Humans have encroached on the natural habitats of predators. Deer, elf, moose are becoming over populated as a result. If we didn't become their predators, they would starve to death.
Hunting is a necessary evil as long as it is legal to help control populations.
And remember, I work at a zoo. I am a conservationist (I teach it as well) and an animal rights activist. (I HATE PETA!)
ABER: in Wirklichkeit handelt es sich um Fell, das in Ungarn gekauft wird. Dort werden Hunde bzw Katzen für diesen Zweck gezüchtet (das ist eher ein ZUSTAND), mit einem Holzbeil erschlagen und meistens noch lebend gehäutet!
Es kann sogar passieren, dass man einen Pelzmantel aus Schäferhund kauft!
Da finde ich diese Plüschtiere, sofern das Fell von gejagten und geschossenen Tieren stimmt, nicht einmal SO dramatisch. Es ist mehr oder minder ein "Abfallprodukt" von Fleisch. Sorry, ist so. Gut, ich bin ne Jägerstochter, ich seh das wieder etwas differenzierter.
Das Fell stammt eben von jenen Farmen die du in deinem Post schon ansprachst.
