WHOA what for real? MAN what a bummer! Yikes, hope things get worked out for you!

Its the one thing that actually made me feel good about living all the way out in that area... all the community colleges in New Orleans didn't have an animation class. I was going to draw/animate today but now I am too irritated. I have this headache that won't go away... I finally got out of a depression spell today (I go through those randomly) and now I am feeling it again when they called me... I'm sorry if you don't want to read all this... I'm in a rantie mood with no one to rant too...

I know the professor whose supposed to take over for the previous one that retired and he said he wasn't prepared to take over quite yet since he didn't quite know the details of 2D animation so it might be for the best. You might try looking into Santa Fe University of Art and Design, I think they have animation, and at the very least illustration. I'm sorry they canceled the class. I know its pretty late to enroll there now though pffft.

I'm already thinking about going to another place and it is too late to drop out and get our money back so I might as well go this semester. 2D animation isn't my problem. I enjoy it enough to learn on my own. I need to learn 3D stuff... that is where my problems are.

You'd want to look into other schools anyway. They've been phasing out lightwave since before 2014, we should have been learning Blender, And Maya since those are way more relevan 3D software tools. And toon boom instead of pencil. You already work in blender, so I'd just keep doing that and looking up tutorials.
That's all the professor had us do last year. Or he'd go look up a tutorial then help us. Lol. But yeah, I'd just look up some blender tutorials for animation and keep practicing.

I already use ToonBoom and Blender XD. If they would let us use the GPU of the computers we wouldn't have so much Render time and we could actualy turn in things. Last semester everyone was done with their final animations but no one could get it rendered in time. I enjoy Blender but I think Maya is more important to learn because it is more powerful... but I don't want to buy it ;.;.

As for another College I have been looking at them all summer anyway. I want a teacher who actually knows how to help the problems I have...

Anyway I'm better today. I can still animate I just enjoyed having someone give me assignments because a lot of the time I just draw a blank when I'm trying to think of ideas. Then I have ideas when I'm in the middle of another project and forget them later... You should see my unfinished animation folder

Yeah I know what you mean, I stopped animating as soon as I got out of class. (If not mostly because I was fed up with the class lol. I was not happy with how it was handled.) But I feel ya, it's easier to work when it's an assignment, you're a bit more motivated!

And I know what you mean, I want Maya and Zbrush but that $1,000 price tag, ouch. lol

I enjoy your animations, so keep working at em! You might try joining MAPs on youtube (Multi animator project) They're usually like music videos, you have a dead line, it's like an assignment! <:
