Just a little check in/update/whatever
It's been awhile, and I'm sorry for the long absence. I've kinda been in a sort of rut due to being unemployed (still), and so I've been depressed and not wanting to do much, and have been avoiding contact with almost everyone. I do feel bad, and I'm sorry. But, I do have some good news, and it's helping pull me out of my depression.
I've started applying for different and farther away positions, and I've actually had a few interviews that seem promising. My most recent one I'm really excited for. It's at a cold storage warehouse, and the only bad thing about it is that it's a half hour drive to work every day. But, my other news kinda helps with that.
I am also forced to make a decision now. As you guys know, I have a truck that I am absolutely in love with (Here). If I really want the career I chose, then I'll have to drive a ways for it (as there's no openings close by). However, my truck gets 8-9 mpg on a good day. If I got it fully tuned up, I might be able to squeeze 12 mpg out of it. Either way, it'll cost me too much to drive it long distances for work. However, my mom just got a new car (a 2017 Subaru Forester), and she's willing to sell me her old car. It's a 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic, and it gets 23 mpg. I'm seriously debating selling my truck and then buy my mom's car.
Thing is, I am just totally in love with my truck, and I really don't want to give it up. But at the same time, I seriously want/need an upgrade. So I think this move will be a good step until I can afford a new truck again.
Besides all that, things are going well. I've actually gotten back in touch with a bunch of old friends that I thought I've lost touch with forever, and I've been doing projects to keep busy. I'm also starting to narrow things down, and starting to go through things.
Well, that's about it. I welcome any opinions/advice about my truck situation, and I miss you all and will try to keep in touch more often.
