SAI2

if you need to contact me about anything at all, dont hesitate to note me. i'll try to get back to you ASAP
There's a new build for the test of SAI2 (english ver) and it has a chance of breaking previous versions of SAI. If you want to test 2 out, be wary.
FA+

The new gui and rulers are nice tho. Its just the guy has to put back all the features from the first Sai.
And that's going to take a long ass time. Maybe another two years or so. Who knows.
Unless a miracle happens and the last stretch isn't much work for the guy.
I still think Sai is the best and leanest program I've ever used for years. And Sai 2 doesn't seem too much fatter.
I don't get the lag like Krita or Clip Studio does for filler brushes, which I use often for textures.
I have a quad core and 4gb ram and those two still huff and puff with brushes in the 250 px range.
But I dunno, maybe I just gotta fuck around with more settings. Clip Studio hides a lot of them.
Maybe its because Krita and Clip does more computational shit on their strokes and canvas than Sai does.
If I can't get these guys to run smoothly here, I don't know how the hell anyone gets these to run on most tablets.
So I agree, there's not much reason to use it. The text tool is nice so I don't have to open PS for it, but so many of the tools are still too simple. The transform tool for one-- and then the fact that it can only hold so many brushes. I have to have 4 different SAIs pinned to my taskbar just so I have all my brushes.
I agree with the being the best program as well (my fiance will always disagree, he uses PS)
PS isn't a drawing program though. SAI also has the best anti aliasing, and the best built-in stablizer. It's a little too much of a crutch though, I can't draw out of SAI without it being weird. Not as if I want to though. I'm going to stick with SAI forever :y
I haven't seen/used Krita, but in my opinion, Clip Studio is way too cluttered. I've tried it, and it's nice, but it doesn't have that simplicity that SAI has. And it's not a bad simplicity at all.
Krita got close. Its still a little shitty tho. The layer panel is still fat. The Navigator was a shitty afterthought. The gui is ugly even after all these kick starters and attention. Now its focus is on stuffing it with more obtuse features like animation and vectors instead of polishing what it already has.
Sai just works. Its not a memory hog. Sure the textures are a pain in the ass to install, and the drivers crash sometimes.. But I found a good set of brushes and they look nice.
Maybe once I get a computer that can shoot lasers I can try those other programs, but nothing felt as comfortable and clean as Sai has.
I dunno, these people focus too much on being 'the photoshop killer', but not enough on making a smooth functional program.
Sai is old as balls, but its made with care. As corny as that sounds.
