IDK, i like memes.

I have unwatched a few because of excessive journals 2-5 daily. Many referring to others needing help or emergencies... Gets annoying really quick

People make a living off this artist stuff. This is where they work. It's kinda to be expected.

This is very true and is kinda why we need an option to turn journals from certain people. It's not so much that they ought to post less because you are very right, it's their livelihood.

From certain people yes. The ones I can't stand the most are auction reminders/win-a-date posts. Had to unwatch a few people because of that.

Streams, YCHs, all that good stuff I can tolerate, depending on who it is. :3

Totally the same here bud, I've unwatched some people before (some I even considered friends) simply because they wouldn't shut up for one minute about their patreon and YCH's (similar to moosie432) or worse: censored all their work with Patreon logos. (the ones where you have to support their patreon to even see the full pics.)

I can understand that people are trying to make a living but I find it rather hypocrite that these same people constantly complain about these problems from other companies like: excessive commercials, internet adverts or using overall dubious tactics and then turn around and do these exact same things themselves and then give you the age old excuse: "Cuz I need moneys". Newsflash: Needing money does NOT mean having to be an asshat about it (oh and this is coming from a fur who himself is living on scraps), if getting the green moolah is THAT important to you then why don't you- oh I dunno... get a REAL job instead of mooching of your parents?

I know this sounds harsh to the furs who do this but let's face it: this is a furry site, not your personal Ebay/Bank account. If they are not here to provide furry material then in my opinion they can GTFO this website, I personally wouldn't miss them.

About Patreon being run like that. I'm told that is not at all how Patreon is supposed to be used. It's supposed to be "Hey, if you support me, here are some added perks." It's not supposed to be a barrier for people to experience the main content.

I have wanted to set up a Patreon account for my Minecraft modification but I don't know how to structure awards so as not to create a barrier for people.

Lol, your ad comments reminds me why I always keep Adblock on for this website. The ads are so flashy and invasive to my eyes that I couldn't stand being here if I couldn't get rid of them. And like these journals, they are worthless because I will NEVER buy any of that stuff. Ever.

I also pretty much don't watch TV anymore for the same reasons. I can't stand commercials which are always over stuff I don't ever buy (such as fast food). They last so long. I have better things to do with my time than to sit through those.

Exactly, it's supposed to show support for their work. This is why I don't have a problem when people release images later on like: first release them on Patreon and a week later release them to the public or hell, even offer the original .psd or .xcf files for download next to their public pics. This way it'll give people a special reward without holding the art itself hostage.

This doesn't mean that I (and a lot of others) don't want to reward artists for their hard work, as in the past I've comissioned some furries and even bought a lot of art collections from Ken Sample's Puma Paw site, so saying that I don't want to pay artists for their work is an outright lie, although you get that flung to your head easily whenever you tend to point out obviously shady practices to people.

And I'm pretty much the same here concerning ads, the only thing I use my TV for nowadays is to connect my laptop or PS4 to watch movies or play games. Same reason why why I have script- and adblockers installed. Usually when I'm at a friend's place it always puts a smile on my face whenever I see all the shit on his computer that I don't have to deal with anymore. =P

I mean, I understand people wanting to keep their watchers informed about things, but...I honestly don't care what con you're going to if I can't be there, and also what you said about being poor and commish advertisements. ESPECIALLY the YCH ads. I...really don't care about those. I have no interest in YCH's, why do I have to put up with getting spammed by them? I have wanted a way to turn off journal notices on this site for a LOOOONG time...

Heheh, yes, very true. Or the even worst stuff like adoptables. I kinda understand YCH's a bit as I've considered it a few times myself but the spam gets really annoying. Even more so for me because several of these artists do mature/adult content and I ALWAYS keep my filter up. So these pictures and their notifications are useless to me.
