Not doing art for my Birthday or for a while =[

I was working on another undertale pic and a few pokemon ones but I had some commissioners come to be me expressing their frustration that I've been taking so long in getting to their commissions (it's been a year).
Before you ask, no, I don't take payment up front. I took 20 slots and to my regret I didn't tell them that I may or may not get to them since I can only really handle only 3 or so every few months before I get overwhelmed.
It's been around 5 months and my drawing inspiration just started to come back since school really drained me this last half a year. Now having to deal with their unhappiness in me, I find it hard to even draw anything. I've tried to explain my lack of interest in doing commissions right now to them but they won't take no for an answer.
I've considered just cancelling the whole list but it still weighs heavy on my mind. It really does suck being a nice guy =\. So for now, I'm not going to post anything or work on anything for awhile. I just can't being myself to draw at all since I have to get those coms done.
Yeah, I'm going to be sad that I won't be able to work on anything for my birthday and show it to you guys but I guess that's just how things are going to be until I can find the will and time to do commissions. I just feel too guilty working on my own projects right now.
So yaaay! Here's to the crappiest celebration of my life on the 16th ^u^ at least on FA haha. Still, I will deeply appreciate any birthday wishes you guys can send me <=3. Thanks so much guys.

I have quite a few art friends who agree with me on this. Drawing something for yourself and drawing something for a commissioner invokes different levels of motivation XD.

Some people just don't get that artists and other creatives ARE NOT MACHINES.
And it's not like they paid you at all, so they haven't actually LOST anything, and so they have next to nothing to complain about really.
Try and have a Happy Birthday anyway.
And that's the reason why I never take money up front. I don't like owing people XD. But who knows, people think they deserve their art now i guess.

I think I will just put them off until i feel like doing it. I think they are lucky to even have a spot since I feel like just quitting coms altogether. Just isn't fun for me right now. Even though someone wanted me to work on their com regardless of how i feel about it XD

Plus I do believe you did state that you only due a few at a time so you don't get overwhelmed in a couple of journals.

In this case, they shot themselves in the foot. I can't force myself to do them any more because of their requests killed my motivation. I guess I'm not the only one who lost out on this XD
