Seriously this is one the best fangames I've ever played. It seriously modernizes and fixes lots of Metroid 2, and boy howdy does it referance Zero Mission and the Prime games a lot.

If you can find it (And I'd be happy to oblige you) I'd highly recommend playing it. It's easily becominga favourite game this year.
