No, cutomers can't ask for anything from artists.
No they aren't lil' queens and kings who can claim to be served like they are ruling at the top of the world and can act the worst but still get what they want in the end.
No. Of course.
But same should be said about artists (probably especially famous ones).
Do you think it's right to break your rules, make mistakes and then tell your customer : "Hey, I don't understand why you're upset. At least, you got something."
NO.
And you can't act like you did nothing wrong and then claim out loud that you're tired of people just complaining for nothing.
Rules must be followed on both sides. Sometimes mistakes are shared but sometimes, yes, customer isn't the one to blame.
Think twice, try to stand in your customers' shoes and I may assure you that it will considerably improve your communication with them.
Hey after all, I'm both an artist and customer.
And I would never blame any of my customers for a mistake I've made. The only thing you can do is : to try to find a way to fix the mess and make everything good for everyone to feel just right in the end. Including you.
That's how customers should be treated. That's what customers should be very thankful for.
Simple business rules.
I'm just sad to realize that such fundamental rules might be completely avoided on some places nowadays...
This is not the world I want to hand down to our children...
Sorry kind of vent, I needed to let this all out.

And I'm sorry to read that you had to face a similar situation. ^^'
No need to apologize. We all need to vent sometimes, even me. You're absolutely right. If an artist treated me like that, they'd definitely lose my business.
But thank you again for your kind support wolf pal ^^ *Gladly offers a friendly hug back*
ça m'a bien achevée...
Vip ! >_<
Oooh t'as Telegram ?
Mais c'est bien Telegram ?
Oui, t'trouveras d'autres artistes.
Vip j'ai enfin compris. XD
Bien sûr ! C'est toujours le même ^^ : Little_shewolf
Aw merci ! <3
The best way to handle anything is to treat both parties involved as human. Artist and commissioner, we are both human, we are both fallible, and thus we still both deserve basic respect.
(unless it is something little like design markings that can be easily remedied).
If it's something drastic, I cannot do it without charging more for time...and no artist should to it without compensation. ONLY if it is commissioner error though, if it is proven to be artist error (because we are human) then we should fix it.
Your comment is so spot on,I cannot love it enough.

I think we've all seen some commissioners who can be total a-holes like the ones who think because they paid you a quick, measly $15 they can expect the world handed to them on a silver platter, but we've also stumbled upon artists who just don't give a damn either. It'd be such a nice day when people can all work together nicely to get things done right. Ahh, dreams right? ;P
We can hope though.
They are real persons and arting is real and serious business for many of them. Hey, I know it better than anyone else as I am an artist too.
But here, that's not the point.
If I took time to share feelings with you all, it's because I really got hurt by someone's attitude. Some artists tend to hide behind giant shields of pride or fear, forgetting that, yes, customers are only real persons too and sometimes, they aren't the ones being wrong. Especially when you're disappointing them by not following your own rules when they're asked to agree respectfully with your toss and rules.
Simple rules as warning them when you want to close some auction sooner so they don't have to wake up early for nothing without realizing that it was useless before you're asking them for money again and again.
Simple rules as to take responsability for your mistakes and try to fix it or at least simply apology.
You know, normal reactions towards another person when you did a mistake.
I don't want to give more details about what happened because there would be no clue in starting a fight here, but I'm the kind of very comprehensive and patient person and I only wanted to make some people remember or realize that their reactions are simply not right.
Customers must be respectful, so do artists.
This is all I wanted to say. ^^
And of course, this is open debate, and I hope you won't get anything I've said personally. That wasn't my intention to hurt anybody.
But this time it should have not been something needed. It was only a matter of disrespect toward their own rules and then customers. ^^' Don't worry, I didn't lose more than just my admiration and respect for them and one more piece of my faith in humanity.
But I did wanna mention (as an avid court tv watcher (yes, I have no life)) that even the correspondence between the two of you, if any, only need say, "You agreed to do this, this, and this," and if their response is, "Yes," then that's binding as a contract.
It would be great if we could rely on people's words being their bond, but we sadly can't. In any event, it's just good to hear that you've come out of this semi-okay. And, I found it classy that you didn't call out the artist by name.
No, and the person who inspired me this journal, I've tried to talk with him first. And that's because his reaction was truly disappointing that I ended writing something I usually rarely write : complains en lessons towards other people.
Sorry to make it about myself.
Now please take a deep breath and keep all the time you need to re-organize your feelings and thoughts, because you're a great person and you must not forget about this.
