So after some digging apparently it is legal for them to ask for that and can disqualify you for housing based on that information. Which seems shady as hell...

you can legally refuse to give them that info. but then they can legally refuse your application anyways so you're f***ed if you don't anyways.

Chances are I'm gonna be denied housing (since I never keep much in savings and checking lately) so I may be staying where I am for a while longer...

I put it all in anyways to give it a shot and hoping it comes back approved... I should hopefully know by wednesday...
