Hello all furries! I'm going to my first con, advice please!

Hey there, thanks for reading! :)
This ol' greymuzzle is going to his very first con in Chicago this December. I live 2 hours away so it's easy to get to by car, but it's my first and I'll be going alone in all likelihood. I'd love any and all advice you furs can provide. I'm excited! Yet nervous. It's all been a fur-covered blur honestly. I've only just now gotten back to the community after years of being away, I have a bit of catching up to do...
Not sure what I'll do there, exactly. I do know that I'll likely have some sort of tail and maybe some sleeves with paws, that's about all my budget can provide for at the time. I might make a sign that says something like "check out this nifty fur!" in a big text bubble that points to whomever I'm photobombing at that moment. :P
Thanks again!

Might be a good idea to bring hand sanitizer to avoid the Con Crud.
This is more for if you're staying the entire con but the all important 6-2-1 Rule: At least 6 hours of sleep, 2 meals, and 1 shower per day. Not saying you couldn't figure that out but it bears repeating.
Have a little extra spending money if you can, people will be selling all sorts of things, tee shirts, hand made crafts, Dr Who/Pony merch, saucy comic books, and commissions (make sure to ask if it will be done in time).
Mostly just relax, have fun and drink it all in. Pick out some panels that interest you but try not to be to rigid with the scheduling. Take lot's of pictures!
I found it's a good idea to go with a few friends (or find them at the con) and do stuff together. Checking out the Dealer's is always a nice thing as you get to look at what other people are offering or showing at a con :)
Some events are also nice to stop by and check out too. Depends on your interests; best to look at what is planned for the con days you're attending.
And always figure out your food plans at a con; hotel food is pricey
