PhD Update: August/September - Open Heart Surgery

For those following my PhD I'm sorry I'm late getting back to you again.
On August 26th I suffered an Aortic Dissection. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-.....n/con-20032930
As you can imagine that hurt my work schedule. Because I'm ahead of schedule slightly since changing to Huddersfield there's been no real damage done to the PhD. I'm just on medical leave until January, but I plan to keep working.
Sorry for the delayed journal. When I was rushed to Leeds Hospital I didn't take anything with me other than a phone, which I couldn't use effectively because I didn't have contact lenses.

Most of my medical situation is fixed. My heart is patched up and they say it can't rip in the same way again. The problem now is waiting for my chest to knit back together. I can't stand or sit for very long at a time, but the worst is long since over.
I hope the rest - even if not as severe as the heart problems - passes quickly as well so you are back to bouncing around soon.
