bitchwolf HEY GIRL. xD I took it because I liked it. Found the questions interesting. Hope you'll enjoy my answers. :D
When did you start drawing?
I started drawing years and years and years ago. Since I could hold a crayon, I think.
What were the names of your first characters?
I started making characters “seriously” in about 3rd grade (I’m 26 now if that helps put it into perspective), and they were a bunch of school students who fought crime but had rival students were also bad guys. (Think KND but most of it takes place in a private school.) I forgot all of their names, but they each had a "special weapon" and my brother was helping me make them up. There was one "smart kid" who made all their James Bond type gear. They were random items that were secretly weapons, like one girl had a stuffed animal (a trutle to be exact) that could come to life and become a giant and fight stuff. One kid had a pen that could translate any language and write it out in English for it's owner, even hyrogliphics (whoever you spell it). OMG one kid was even in a wheelchair that had extendable wings and could fly. XD We thought they were so cool.
What influenced the design of your first characters?
My classmates in the third grade were a huge influence on that. I think 8-10 is where you start developing more socially LOL and I started making up characters that interacted like most of the kids in class did. Some were friends for a long time, some hated each others guts, some were leaders or followers, smarter than others, shy, boastful ... etc.
Is there anything you draw very similar now as to when you were a child?
Similar as in how they look? No. But I draw similar fashions XD (I think I’ve always had a character who wears black Mary Janes.)
What do you hate drawing?
Anything that takes forever to finish…which is everything at this point.
What do you love drawing?
Characters interacting, I really don’t care what they’re doing. I just love “action/reaction” type stuff.
What artists do you look up to?
I can’t really think of names… I admire people who like to do what they like to do and don’t care what anyone else thinks. But that whole Pixar team is really getting to me, every time a new movie of theirs comes out, I think it was made just for me. It’s hard to explain really, but that’s how a story should be and I want to make people feel that way. Someday I guess.
What art genre do you dislike the most?
Abstract art, just because I don’t like not knowing what it is I’m looking at. That and photography. Like Stewie said, “Ooh, you took a picture of a lawn chair and it’s shadow in black and white, you must be so deep.” (or something like that.)To me art is something you make out of nothing or seeing the beauty in something that isn’t, or something you made out of raw emotion. If someone is already beautiful and you get it on film, that’s not art. It’s a souvenir, so you can remember just how it was at that moment in time. I could go on and on about that subject though.
What art genre do you love the most?
Storytelling. It SHOULD be a genre in itself. There are so many different mediums to tell a good story, it’s like the epitome of art. Literature, music, dance, drawing, sock puppets, you can use ANYTHING to tell a story. You can base it off real life or complete fantasy. Through characters and their strife, you bring your audience to places they’ve never been, or see the world they live in everyday through someone else’s eyes, and as your characters grow and change, so might your audience. People can grow, change, be comforted, feel welcomed, and feel loved, all through a good story. It is the perfect craft. I want to do it professionally so bad… T.T
What was the last thing you drew?
Kaos Theory’s birthday gift actually. LOL Aside from trying to revamp the JC girls’ references. Well more like updating than revamping. I get embarrassed showing those old ones around when I ask people for commissions and whatnot. XD I don’t even draw like that anymore.
Who is your newest character?
They’re not so much new as they are finalized versions of some older ones. I’m finalizing the JCs’ parents and what not while I’m working on the first arc of their story. Yep, I’m working on my fancomic.
