Scrivener?

I'm curious about anyone who has used the program/continues to use it?
I've been doing fine with my basic writing program (basically off brand Word, it's just called Writer) but after the deadline I'm working on my writing is going to kick into high gear as I go after every anthology under the sun.
Sooo... Anyone wo uses Scrivener, can you give me your opinion on it? Does it actually help to organize characters and plot lines? Is it easy to format and save in regular manuscript form? What about as plain .txt files?
Also sorry for lack of uploads! Now that I'm focused on anthologies it's hard for me to write on here, but I'm gonna try to do a Halloween related story for October. Also maybe a fan FNAF story because I can be a little lame sometimes for my own amusement |D;;;
