I have been kinda thinking the past 3 weeks about something I want to do in my life. I am not sure if I can do it however and need anyone's help that would give it. I have been thinking of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from the California Mexico border to the Washington Canada border. Has there been anyone on here that has done even a portion of the trail? If so any info on it would be great. If I decide to do this I am also looking for a hiking partner. Someone who would be willing to walk the entire length with me.

You have some good hiking areas where you live. Gosh, so many hills. Just a walk around town could be as energetic as any hike in the woods. Get out there right now and build up your walking stamina, so you're used to walking miles at a stretch by the time you hit the trail.

Great hike and did a bunch of central california. Start with the book by the name hiking the pc trail. Gets into equipment and shape you need to be in. Sothern california part is sketchy now cause of safety and illegals. Secret is getting up to hiking 15 to 20 miles and a day. The views i saw are so awesome with the granite hills and crystal clear lakes.

Yeah its the beauty that attracts me to it so much, why I want to do this. Also I will feel that I accomplished something, I just kinda wanna do it with someone on the first time. Yeah thats what I have been doing a lot is research equipment, especally watching videos of people who have hiked it already. I can do about 6-10 now on hilly ground but yeah I have been walking more lately with weight on my back to get used to that feeling as well. Thanks Race *hugs*

Ultralight hikers can do higher miles but i like a bit more comfort in my pack.
