Computer help? Unable to write files to harddrive.
I'm looking for some help or suggestions on how to resolve an issue I am having with my computer.
I've installed a SSD drive as my primary drive, and moved the original harddrive as a secondary drive.
The SSD only has 100gb of space, whereas my original hard drive has 500gb.
My computer boots up quickly now with the SSD, and my harddrive works fine, however I am unable to write any files to the 500gb harddrive, or overwrite/save any documents currently on it. Which is really a pain because all of my artwork, and pretty much everything is on the harddrive.
If I open a PSD, and try to hit save/ctrl+S, it says I do not have permission to write to this drive.
Which means I'd have top copy the file to my SSD drive, work from there, then cut > paste it to the other drive, which really throws off my workflow.
I can copy > paste files to it (but only after receiving a Message box asking for my permission to do so)
It's probably just a setting somewhere, and I tried giving my User permission to write to the drive but it still wont let me Save files, or install programs on it, so perhaps I haven't found the correct setting.
If anyone knows how to resolve this annoyance simply, that'd be pretty dandy! :3
. . . .
Outside of that issue, I've just been so busy with homework and errand running and babysitting and entertaining guests and seeing family and then being tired from it all that I've not had much time to draw in recent weeks, thus I've been rather quiet. But I'm usually lurking here.

My best guess is it is somehow in read only mode. But that doesn't really make sense if you're still able to write to it with admin access.
Yeah, its odd in that I can move files to the drive, via cut/copy > paste, albeit with a MessageBox saying it'll require permission to do so, but I cant open, and then save a document that's already on that drive.
I have to move it to the SSD, save it on that drive, then cut > paste it to the other drive and it really slows down my workflow since then I have to dig through tons of folders and subfolders and then i run the risk of accidentally overwriting a file I may not want to and lose the convenience of hitting ctrl+s while working. Its really a pain.
Im glad it kind of works somewhat but its not at all what I wanted to happen when I upgraded to a SSD. I much preferred the 500gb of storage space, over the computer booting up and shutting down faster with 1/5th of the space, which already has a decent chunk of it's available space taken up by just the operating system and installed programs alone.

When you right-click the "main-folder" that you only have "read"-rights on, and enter properties, there is a security-tab, where there should be listed a few whitelisted-accessors. Those can be, but are not limited to; Users, System, Administator, etc...
Now, there should be a button just below the list, named "Edit" or "Manage" (translating this from a Danish operating-system...), and if you press that, you're given the option of adding or removing "accessors" and rights/allowances to them. Go ahead and press the "Add" button. Now, a new window will open with 3 slots - 2 of which should already be filled. The last box should be empty, and here you should now write "EVERYONE" or "ALL" (again, translation from Danish...). Capital letters, may or may not be important. For me, it capitalised everything automatically.
Press the OK button, and select the "accessor" you've just created. Below the list, there should be 2 collums of squares with/without checkmarks. In the "Allow" collum, you should check all boxes, and in the "Deny" collum, all boxes should be un-checked. Duh.. :)

You can do this for the whole drive instead of just a folder at a time.
