Where do I stand politically?
9 years ago
Heya, what's up guys? I just want to start by saying sorry my uploads have been sparse lately. I have ideas for art, but I lack the motivation to do them. And I've just been generally kinda feeling like shit the last couple months or so. And, conveniently, it's largely in part due to politics. This presidential race has been one giant mess lately. In some ways, I managed to find entertainment out of it and I could laugh at it. Not anymore. As election day gets closer, the reality of the situation gets more serious. Which leads to the question I'm asking myself; Where do I stand?
At the beginning, I was 100% for Bernie Sanders. It was perfectly clear he was the best choice for a president. He seemed too good to be true, in my opinion. But that's because he was. And he eventually betrayed millions of his supporters, myself included, by endorsing Hillary Clinton. And not only did he betray so many people, he gave in to the system. Something he was actively campaigning against!
But in recent weeks especially, I started to get why.
The Trump campaign is far more dangerous than a lot of people seem to give it credit for. On the surface, to me, it didn't seem like all that bad a situation. But I gave more consideration to his running mate especially; Mike Pence. Now, on the surface, it just seems like "Oh, it's only the vice president, it's not that big a deal, whatever". But when you consider who he is, what his policies are (Which are incredibly bad by the way. Like, Ted Cruz level bad.), and the position he could potentially be put in. If something were to happen to Donald Trump; Whether it be he dies, gets impeached, or assassinated, who's going to run the country? See where I'm getting at here?
If he decides to run for president in the future, he would have opposition from the other side, so he could potentially lose. If something happens to Trump, like I mentioned above, he would be our president for at least the remainder of Trump's term, with absolutely no contest. And that is scary to think about.
Not to mention what a disgusting old man Donald Trump really is. Especially towards women. He's a fascist, he's a misogynist, he's not right in the head. And the recent controversy surrounding him, and watching the vice presidential debate and seeing Mike Pence's true colors, I absolutely do not, under any circumstance, want those two in office.
Now, here comes the part some of you probably won't like;
I'm strongly considering voting for Hillary Clinton.
Now, I want to make perfectly clear that I am NOT a Hillary supporter. Never have been, never will be. She is obviously not the best of the bunch, but I am running out of options.
I have considered voting third-party, or not even voting for president at all. But those two options would most likely help towards a Trump victory.
I know who Hillary is. I do not want her, or either of our two candidates to be president. But the more this controversy about Trump surfaces, and the more I think about a very possible Mike Pence presidency, the more I feel Hillary Clinton may very well be the lesser of two evils, here. And Tim Kaine; if something were to happen to Hillary like I said about Trump, I would be far less scared of Tim Kaine taking the oval office. The worst he could possibly be is ineffective. And I would not be nearly as worried about the future then.
Donald Trump is unfit to be president. Hillary Clinton is not much better. But if you look back at who these people are, and what they've done, which do you think is the lesser evil here?
Once again, my vote, despite being made out to Clinton, would not be for Clinton, but rather against Trump.
Thank you guys for taking the time to read this. If there is something about it you disagree with, please speak up. I would like to hear other points of view on this situation. I don't know if your argument will change my mind, but I would like to hear it anyway.

Bernie wasn't in it to win, he was in it to push the Dems as a whole further left. He deserves all the credit for doing so. But he was never going to be POTUS. The people saw what he had to offer and said "nah." Scream about HRC and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz all you like, but you know it's true.
