I'd personally recommend not paying attention to the numbers that close.

It'll just make you depressed. And keep in mind, you've got 600 people there. That's probably about 590 more people than you'd be able to consider 'close friends'. (I personally only have 3 close friends, so there ya go) So the point here is, you lost 3 watchers? I'll bet they were probably no one in particular anyway. For all you know, they could've been spam accounts that watched you and got banned all at once. Doubt it, but it's there. So no worries. :3

Do you visit Encyclopedia Dramatica? If so you've probably read of a more famous example, "chasethehedgehog". He insisted to the members of conceptart.org that he was a better artist than them due to the fact that he had 100,000 pageviews, even though they were getting paid to be artists and clearly had a better portfolio.

fake friends > critique
A lot of people are rather sensitive to critique and take it as flaming, yet the people who give the empty one-liner comments are "friends" because they're being "nice". Critique helps in the long run, empty one liner comments do not.


apm > strategic skill
This is a joke from starcraft. There's this thing called "APM", actions per minute. It refers to how fast you can issue orders. The problem is, if you don't know what you're doing, apm is worthless because you're basically clicking for your units to do nothing. It's also easy to spam apm to give yourself a false rating. If you don't even know how to play the game then apm won't help. The way that this is similar to the previous comparisons is that apm is a number, strategic skill can not exactly be rated; but anyone can see that apm (pageviews) is worthless when your stragetic skill (actual art quality) is superior.

The point is, you should make your art and not really care about these numbers since they won't ever help you improve.

I try to avoid paying attention to that, although I do wonder why it goes up and down at times. Then again I have almost 300 watchers yet when I post something I generally only get around 50 hits (25 if it's not adult) and some of those hits aren't even from my watchers, so almost none of my watchers are actually looking at anything I post.

Hmm...that is weird. I guess maybe they were probably watching you for porn instead of just your normal art, love. But you have so many other watchers that like both of your art styles, as well as your stories, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Of course you'll always have your most loyal watchers, including me. *kisses* :3
