After watching Shin Godzilla last night, I must say that I'm very happy with the movie. It felt very much like a modern day Gojira 54. Like retelling/re-envision of the original 1954 film in a modern geopolitical climate. I can also see why others may not like it. There is a lot of dialogue in the movie. Sometimes overwhelming. However it didn't really bother me since it went into detail how modern day Japan has to deal with Godzilla. Of course I would like more but there's only so much you can fit in a 2 hour movie. I'm certainly curious as to the direction they're going with for future movies. Whether it will be a continuation (sequel) or another story entirely, I'm not sure. I need to watch this movie again but I can say it's in my top 5 favorite Godzilla movies. Maybe even top 3. All hail the King of Monsters.
