Sexual Assault
Okay folks, I've posted this on facebook, but I think it has to be said here as well.
There has been a lot of talk in the media recently about sexual assault. It's not something people like to talk about, but it must be discussed. Unfortunately, some of my friends - both women and men - have been victims of sexual assault. I find it profoundly upsetting, even more so because this is more common than people think. It shouldn't be common and it shouldn't be tolerated. Many don’t really understand know how damaging it can be to a person.
I know there are people in this community who have been victims of sexual assault. This includes costumed performers.
I wanted to urge everyone who reads this to be aware this can happen to anyone. Please look out for others and please discourage anyone who thinks this is okay or casually dismisses sexually abusive behavior. There are some people who think that it is okay or playful to sexually assault people in costume - it isn't. Be on the lookout for this.
If anyone that reads this has been a victim of sexual assault, please don’t feel that you are alone and don’t be discouraged by those who do not take this issue seriously. Myself and many others are here for you.

what also needs to be avoided is hysteria about it. not every hug is a sexual assault. ther are also other ways ro rape someone than just straight stickign somethign into them.
just use common sense, please.
This is kind of an asymmetrical thing - if you have been assaulted, this is extremely unpleasant to you.
If you weren't, you might not really get what the fuss is all about. It's a lack of empathy.
If you're the one doing it, your plea will likely fall on deaf ears. Those people need to be stopped.
I have heard surpricingly many of my friends being seriously sexually assaulted. I mean physically. So that there are lifetime traumas they carry. And I agree... with you guys. These things should not be alloved to happen nor tolerated. - Sadly it seems that these things get relealed over the time when that what happened.. is already past and damage is done.
Then there is the other side of this.. what about those who play with the danger. That they think that they want... but at the moment when things start rolling, and other one is already in emotional storm of sensations and lust. And the first one get affraid of for some reason decides that doesn't want to. Is that as well sexual assault if one has with own actions made situation to that direction and yet decides to back away for what ever reason?
Sex and sexuality... its way of controll mind and peoples. Religions use it as a tool. either by denying it or by setting rules. - and at same time its the way that will pass all locks of mind... like a back door where is no guard.
I think that we should be more sharp to monitor our surroundings, friends and contacts to be able to step between when something bad is about to happen. Then again how to... here where I live. I do not see many people, and I spend most of my time online.
And that would be good idea to understand both. The one who conducted assault as the victim. Not to forget the situation. - It is easy.. too easy to judge something as totally wrong. - and almost as difficult to notice when something is going to go wrong.
