I have to work *on* Halloween but Saturday my hubs and I are taking our toddler for his first trick-or-treat.
I wanted to go to a haunted house but our sitter bailed. RIP.

I worked at a Haunted House once. So I would've been the spooky fellow who tried to give you a scare. But I'm a big ol' wuss so I was more scared of the customers than they were of me lol.

I did spook a lot of people though by the end of the night. I'd stand perfectly still, then just, slowly move or pop out of the shadows and they'd run screaming into my companions, all of us were dressed identically so it really confused them.
But then one customer punched my companion in the face, when all that particular worker was instructed to do was be dressed spookily and say "Hold the rope" as the customers walked up a steep incline, the rope was for their safety if they lost their footing. He was more for guidance than spooking but they nailed him in the face without provocation, just to impress their girlfriend who was unsettled by his presence. And I heard one girl working there had both her arms broken by some horrible customers, and two others were very inappropriately harassed by a bunch of highschool football players.
So now I don't want to work at them anymore, the guy who ran it was stripped of his right to operate haunted houses due to his mistreatment and neglect of us volunteers. He just sat in the back getting drunk and ignored when we called for aid when we'd been attacked by a customer. But I'm sure I just ended up in a bad one, and others are (hopefully) run much safer. But we did have a lot of protocols to follow in the case of a fire, safe-words, and lots of exits so that if there were an emergency we could get ourselves and our guests evacuated, so that was really cool to learn.
It was fun, but also miserable. So Id give it a 5/10 lol.

Tell all your friends not to punch or touch props/workers in haunted houses, because they just might be a real person who didn't really deserve a whack in the jaw. But I'm sure I just ended up at a bad one that was poorly run. If you go to haunted houses get spooked and have fun!

I worked at a haunted house before as well. I was sexually harassed by not only customers, but other workers as well. It was a very uncomfortable experience all around. :/

Oh no that's horrible! I just don't see why people treat the workers so poorly, customers and the other workers alike. Halloween's supposed to be fun, man. That's terrible! >8C

But oh my gosh a little spider man, that's gotta be super adorable! I hope he has lots of fun! Spiderman was in the newer Captain America movie, too. Civil war? He was pretty funny in that one!

I know right?! Halloween is so great. I hate when people try to ruin the fun for everyone else.

I really like Antman too, he's so silly its awesome. I wish there was a Captain America costume that would fit me, cause Id love to have a Cap costume, man. xD
