Can someone explain the entire idea behind adoptables to me? Because for me, it seems like you're quite literally just patenttrolling/performing literal extortion with character designs.
As with most intellectual property it's not so bad when the designs are suitably unique, but if they're mostly generic things with a splash of colour that anyone would think up, it seems pointless to try and assert some form of ownership over the concept.
Even at their best, though, the concept makes me a little uncomfortable.
