Get a intuos 4, with the intuos 3 you only get 1024 lvls of sensitivity it's double with the 4 (2048 lvls)

Makes no sense to go to a 3. Old tech liable to break and inadequate drivers. You can find pretty decent tablets with the same level but newer version of the outdated bamboo line. Let me know if you need help

I've had the same tablet for years
i broke my intuos 4 and 5 in less than a year x - x
I was given an intuos 3 from 7 years ago and it still works

someone is suggesting the 4, I highly recommend against it. the retarded texture on the surface of the intuos 4 and intuo 5 rubs off with use after about 6 months of drawing at the volume that you or I draw at. whats left behind is a sheeny-gross, slightly sticky plasticy feel that is horrid. also my intuos 4 pen that came with the tablet initially died in 6 months, and had to be replaced for a whopping 65$

sure, the damn thing has lasted [albeit barely] but the 2048 pen pressure levels that they boast over, arent even the least bit noticable, also SAI doesnt even recognize the 2048 levels, it only uses 1024...so it's irrelevant. if and when my intuos 4 craps out, I too will be buying an intuos 3. solid drivers with minimal issues, unlike the intuos 4 drivers which crash constantly and have to be reinstalled so much by so many users that it's just become "a norm" which wacom never felt the need to correct. imo if you found a tablet you like and works for you, stick with it.

I have to say i have an intuos 5 and had not had any problems with it yet after almost 3 years^^
The surface to draw in looks used and it just got very polished-like after drawing so much, but not sticky or plastic like feeling to it.

I got a almost new intuos 5, no problem trading it for art if you want

I've had two Intuos5's die on me from minimal jostling. A friend sent me an older one that has ironically lasted me 4 years now. :S I've heard 3 is alright as well but it's been years since I used one.

It's more that I really love the draw surface and I'm comfortable with using the older models. The surface, pen and all that are just something I really love working with and out of all the tablet models I've used, these have been the most reliable!

I actually have a Wacom Tablet here, but it ain't an Intuos 3. More like a Graphire 3 (CTE-630). :/

Get an Intuos Pro. Higher pressure sensitivity and comes with a wireless kit. You're better off getting and adjusting to the new tablets than using the ones they don't manufacture anymore or update the drivers for.

I don't suggest the pro to anyone I have the pro large and the port the cable plugs into has a known issue causing it to short out many people have had the issue and have since had it replaced and had the same issue once more since I didn't want to wait over a month to get my tablet back I decided to just buy a battery charger and use it wirelessly .

I didn't have an issue wit the Pro's port. I had an issue with the Intuos 5's port though (which was a common problem). Replacing the port is a hell of a lot easier than replacing the cable on an Intuos 3. My Intuos 3 I had years ago died because of the cabling wearing through on the inside.

I have a used Intuos 3 myself. I too have looked for some online, but for some reason people try to dump them off for 200+ dollars which is just silly. It's still fully functional with no damage, however the draw pad is obviously a bit abused for years of use. I can send some pictures of it your way if you're interested!

I also still have the stylus, and the holder for it, as well as like... 50 extra nibs that will never see use since I don't use the intuos 3 anymore.

Hey! is it the medium 8X6 size? I don't mind wear on the tablet pad as long as there aren't massive gashes in it. I picked one up off of ebay that had a big cut in the drawing area so you can see where that caused issues @@

It is the 8x6, yep! There is only one minor scratch on the draw pad toward the bottom, and it never caused me any issues. I'll take some photos and close ups and shoot you a note/email, whatever you prefer! Then you can decide if you want it or whatever :>

omg sorry for adding to the junk comments but I loved my Intuos 3 ;; still have it but the wire shorted out on it as well and it not being easily replaceable is a pretty big problem for it. The button layout for it was just A+ and I miss it.
