As for the election -- I aren't American, but I honestly doubt Mr. Trump isn't to do anything drastic, I mean, he isn't part of an absolute monarchy, so he won't be able to do anything that major right now.

Sorry to hear that you had a family fight. Stuff like that is always annoying on such occasions. Last Christmas Eve, my oldest brother started a fight with me. The night was going perfect until that -- all because of his non-existent temper containment and because I told him to stay clear of sitting on my iPad T_T Anyways, sorry about such a thing happening on your birthday :( *hugs*
