What needs to happen is everyone proving that democracy still thrives here, and unifies behind Trump to give him the chance to prove himself a worthwhile president. I don't see how protests = that democracy doesn't thrive. The nation was divided. It was a 50/50 split in the popular vote, more or less. If Trump didn't win, you would have people upset about Washington being broken and about their feelings of distrust in Clinton. And they would have a right to protest about it. The same as non Trump supporters have the right to protest his morals and his VP choice.

Don't forget the riots along the west coast. Riots does not a protest make.

Is it so hard for you to understand why so many people would feel upset? Black Lives Matters. Immigrants. LGBTQ. All of these groups are feeling marginalized. And they are scared. Why is that so hard to understand? Put yourself in their shoes. I'm not condoning violence, but not everyone is violently protesting.

Somehow Trump won. I can tell you everyone had a hand in this, and the world watches us emasculate ourselves. We have lost sight of working together as humanity and helping each other. Racism is more rampant than ever fueled by Republican greed and Democratic ignorance of others poorer than themselves.

Yeah, it would have been the same either way. I'd support it either way. Right now the most troubling thing though is that Trump's campaign appealed to hard core racists and bigots. Not every supporter of his is this way, but unfortunately, his winning has given them strength. And the hate crimes against minorities just in the past few days are disgusting.

If Hillary had won, I don't believe these people would be so empowered. However, if she had won we would have people protesting in the streets for washington being corrupt and a feeling by many of hopelessness. So unfortunately I think all paths led to the same point. More or less.
