I'm not worried about Trump screwing over the LGQBT, even though he's said it's a choice and same-sex marriage should be a state issue rather than federally protected.
I'm not worried about him waving a LGQBT flag upside down saying he supports them right before the election.

I'm worried that he elected a VP who believes gays can be "cured" through therapy and has his head so far up his ass that he didn't understand why his "religious freedom" bill would have such a negative backlash.

Don't get me wrong- I understand Trump has limited power. There are checks and balances. POTUS signs the bills, and doesn't draft them. No, really. I get that.

But it's hard to call it "checks and balances" when he's also able to appoint a new SCJ after Republican-led Congress fought for weeks until the election, when the new nominee should've been by Obama. And soon all branches of government will be right-wing conservatives. That's not checks and balances. Trump doesn't need to convince the LGQBT community that he supports them, because he doesn't. His party doesn't. It's a common thing among right-wingers. They say "I have no problem with gay people, BUT-" or "I support personal freedom, BUT-". Hillary sitting there in 2006 saying she doesn't support same-sex marriage on a federal level but fight and vote in the interest of LGQBT since then doesn't scare me as much as Trump deciding to "protect LGQBT rights" right after he's elected despite platforming to undo equal rights for them for over a year.

He's an idiot, I'm sure that as just a dumb mistake. I never said I supported the guy. Also you are right, Pence is a scum bag and it still troubles me that he's Vice. He can't do too much though expect for give recommendations to Trump, which I am imagine he'll ignore hopefully... We'll have to wait and see. Given, in my belief, Trump is mostly going to fix the financial page of the economy so his facilitates can start racking in the dough; I highly doubt he'd pass any legislation that would get him in bad with anyone.

I too find that troubling, yet I still imagine shit won't hit the fan for now. The Republicans do have quite a bit of leeway right now though. We'll just have to see what happens. Given "Gay Rights" is a state-wide thing, that is going to be a hard thing to change. Another thing people aren't getting, is that WE can do something about an unjust leader. I'm amazed no-one did anything about Obama/Bush actually. In the Constitution, it states that if the President, along with the gov., can be made to step down if they are not doing their job per the country's request. Unjust rule can be overthrown despite how silly that sounds.
