yo, realistic gore or candy gore ???

okay ive been thinking; should i do more realistic gore like with membranes and subcutaneous fat layers and shit?
or should i just keep doing what i'm doing? (what i'm doing is basically like ugly, semi-realistic candy gore kinda i guess)
