Interesting Projects: Magic Mirror
General
I've been involved with a local theatre company for the last few years, mostly in the chorus (or ensemble, if you prefer), and have had lots of fun singing and (kind of) dancing on stage in front of some pretty good sized crowds. And while the company does a variety of different shows, I was mostly involved in their Pantomimes, essentially Christmas musicals based on fairy tales, and decidedly family oriented.
Anyway, my boss wouldn't give me Saturdays off to rehearse, so I can't actually be in the show this year, so I read the script anyway. Turns out they're doing Beauty and the Beast this year, and what version of that classic would be complete without a magic mirror? So I offered to make them one with special effects, effectively scripted lights.
And it looks great! If anyone is interested, I'll be posting another journal entry with a bit more detail on what it does, as well as links to some pictures, as I'm pretty sure they don't quite fit the usual criteria for posting here directly.
Final pictures won't be available until the show is over, of course, to give people a chance to see it in person first.
