Getting Started: Any Advice?
Going through and getting a feel for different tastes, preferred styles, and understanding desired pairings.
I joined [technically] a couple years back, but I didn't get into this for academic reasons up til now.
I'm curious. Ridiculously curious. My nose wants to be in everything for a minute, just to understand and then give an affirmative "Oh yeah. My kind of desires" or "Hm. Spot on aesthetics, I can at least appreciate the drive behind this".
I've followed and favorited artists and pieces that have caught my eye and intrigued me.
While I definitely have a thing [see also, desire/appreciation/love for/whoa that's amazing] for satyrs, orcs, weres, lupines, canids, and dragons, been exploring how I feel about others as I slowly make my way through the massive amounts of art here. I'm gonna be honest in admitting that where attractions go, still gonna be gay as fuck/nonbinary as hell.
Oh, and?
Ya'll are inspiring.
I write as a main, and i draw some of my greatest strengths from roleplay. I started to roleplay in order to spice up how I approach writing; you get a lote more out of structure and creation when you have to think of components that are personal to you. What does your character look like by these build standards? What about the culture of this town? The world build? Magic[k] mechanics? Planes? Species? Races? SUb-types? Hybrids/half-breeds/new races? How is a certain act viewed? Does your character suck at diplomatic interactions?
Do you have a Masterwork Tool of Oral gotten from a somewhat shifty merchant in the rowdy part of town? [bard humming in the background grows louder, slightly erratic]
I use worldbuilding and creation in that manner, and go from there for my stories. Often, stories I will share here are based off of games with others or personal explorations set up in mock campaigns or builds. I'm open to other methods and styles, but that will be how I usually go about business.
If you have any suggestions, things you'd like to see written [ya'll might have to bear with me as I get used to terms and feel of each type], anything, let me know. I've got a few projects that might intrigue some:
-Trade in the Tribe
[In which a priest think's he'll get absolutely wrecked by a band of desert nomadic orcs, but is spared due to his healing abilities. Apparently, children haven't been so common for awhile in the tribe and that's a big issue. Slow burn, because sexual tension is its own wonderful reward.]
-Displaced
[In which a human in our time is ripped away to a world where humans are a little... rarer. Parellel to our own world, and much farther in the future, most of the population fits into an anthropromorphic group. This world is mostly me figuring things out and having the excuse to do it in an adaptible environment. The little blurbs I've made for it involve satyrs, a wolf, and a tiger.]
I'm interested in communication, making friends, getting to know more about the community and interests.
In two years I'm going to probably giggle at how basic this is and I've come to terms with that. ^_^
Happy Creating, Watching, and keep on doing what ya love!
