Are you not a fan of the new Gallery Layout? Here's a fix
9 years ago
Well, you might remember the last UI bit of fun I fixed back when, the SIDEBAR.
And here we find ourselves with another UI change that not everyone might enjoy.
Here's a new userscript to fix that. (Also made a userstyle, see the first Edit below)
STEP 1: Install a userscript addon for your browser if you don't have one already.
__Firefox: Greasemonkey https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi...../greasemonkey/
__Chrome: Tampermonkey https://chrome.google.com/webstore/.....mpobfkfo?hl=en
__Safari: Tampermonkey https://tampermonkey.net/?browser=safari
__Opera: Violentmonkey https://addons.opera.com/en/extensi.....ey/?display=en
__Edge: Tampermonkey https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9nblggh5162s
__IE:Haha, what? See Edit 2 Below
Mobile users? Dunno! See what's available for your device.
STEP 2: Go here and click the blue install button: https://openuserjs.org/scripts/malo.....ry_Restoration
STEP 3 (optional): To improve load times, you can add "http://t.facdn.net/*@400*$~collapse" to your adblock filters (without quotes) to block the thumbnail sizes you won't see.
STEP 4: If you're missing the title, artist, (and on your messages page, checkboxes) below the thumbnails, look for a button recently renamed Show Titles at the top of the gallery. It's to the left of the green update button on the browse page, and near the Nuke Submissions button on your messages page.
Alternatively, you can try the one I use personally, which will enlarge thumbnails slightly by default, from the original 200px up to 250 and will also expand the thumbnail when you mouse over it, up to 400px.

For this one, you'll block "http://t.facdn.net/*@200*$~collapse"
Tested working on both Classic and Beta layouts.
Edit: Made a paired down version of this script as a Userstyle for those who prefer that.
These are easier on CPU usage, but for this particular fix, somewhat more memory intensive, as the thumbnails aren't replaced with their smaller versions, just resized.

Edit 2: Okay, Okay. It IS possible to do in IE. It just isn't nearly so easy.
Right click this link and save it: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....87/FAThumb.css
Step 1: Open your Internet Options
Step 2: Click Accessibility. It's at the bottom of the General tab (the tab the panel opens on)
Step 3: Check "Format documents using my style sheet"
Step 4: Click browse, find and select the file you downloaded above.
Step 5: Click OK to close all open control panels
Step 6: Restart IE

Fixing what is broken, rather than what ain't like what FA is doing now.
But no, let's all degrade usability further instead in the aim of looking more "modern".
So once again, the gay is saved! Thanks to the cougar coder!
Now if we can only get the titles and artist names to show up without mousing over each pic in turn.
Cheers for the headache-preventing UI fixes btw.
EDIT: Also, Hassat-Hunter deserves some thanks for linking this out in the "Site Update" thread (or at least being the link of it that lead me here).
But glad atleast it helped another person just like it did me :)

Thanks for letting me know, though, and feel free to ask if you need more help.
