Some thoughts on The Last Guardian [NO SPOILERS]
9 years ago
First off, I have NOT played this game. I don't have a PS4. What I have done, though, is watch several different streamers play it, and... I've noticed a common theme among those who get frustrated and upset:
They keep trying to force their will onto the game.
Instead of going with the flow, immersing themselves into the experience, and seeking harmony, they take a very "gamery" approach. And they keep getting stuck, and then get angry that Trico won't listen to them.
And every single time that has happened, the solution to whatever they were stuck on has been very obvious to someone who would have approached it from the perspective of the boy.
For example - and this is a generic example, nothing from the game specifically - say they get trapped in an area. People would spend five minutes crawling over everything, poking at everything, and then getting angry at "no obvious answer"... when all they had to do would have been to call Trico for help. Which, to me, makes perfect sense - you're a young child, you're scared and alone, the first thing you would do would be to call the big, fluffy friend you have to help you.
...I dunno. It's just frustrating to me to watch people pan this game.

:( Trico is learning. Trico is trying to help you, but she is just a beast. She takes a long time to ponder and think of what this strange, small, naked animal is asking of her. The fact impatience hurts Trico, by wilting her ears and even whimpering- how frantic and quick her breathing becomes while she is thinking, stings me.
All they see are obstacles to over come. They want to "be done with this game, already."
;_; See; Little Inferno.
;__;
Honestly, the things Trico does and picks up on show that she is extremely intelligent - possibly smarter than the boy.
She wants so much to help, and all she needs is patience and time. As she learns to understand us, we learn to understand her.
EDIT: This is the last game that should be GameFAQsed. D: That's a shame.
