I'm guessing you'd go with a tiered reward structure. Something I've seen common with Patreons is having the low/cheap tiers have early access to posted stuff and that's about it, with any of the medium/high tiers being equivalent to a sketch/commission sort of deal of the same/slightly lesser value. Would this be a Patreon for your comic or just art in general? That would definitely affects your rewards too. If you do go with the equivalent commission sort of dealio based on their monthly contribution, I would suggest limiting those sorts of slots so you don't get overwhelmed meeting those monthly obligations.

This would technically be for the comic. I need to make a certain amount each month before I could really even start it properly without having to worry so much about rent. It would be one of the goals. Once there and the comic was a thing, I'd add on getting to see comic pages early as a reward, I think.

For the commissions thing, what about a discount instead? Higher tiers get a bigger discount?

Yeah, a discount could certainly work. I'm not sure what percentage what would work, it depends on your tiers. Also before putting up a patreon I'd recommend having a few comic pages up first as well.

What about instead of the first few pages of comic, I do like a 'trailer' set of pages? Give people a better idea of what the storyline would be right from the get-go?

Yeah, that would definitely work! You could use it for your Patreon page, maybe just a one page thing explaining your intent behind the comic whilst showcasing the characters and the tone.

What about monthly line arts for people to color? Patrons vote on what it will be?

Aye! You could have a few choices that you come up with for Patreons to vote on, either something generic or otherwise that would appeal to them. You could even tie it into the comic or something with different species of that world, or just have the choices be something that has larger appeal so it could double as a sort of advertisement for here (and DeviantArt) too.

I was thinking mid/post-tf line art ^^ With occasionally raffles for a closed species spot. Higher tiered patrons would get a second vote for the line art, and a second 'ticket' for the closed-species raffles
