two drinks into the night, it's hard for me to itemize them
but there have been a lot of names over the years.

on the other side of the affair,
i have to question what people expect of me
and what disappointment i'd leave behind if i just walked away.

and for a moment, i realize that not all of the disappearances are mysteries.
i'm reminded how many of the characters in my life are ghosts.

you have the age advantage on me there by a few years
but still, i grew up in BFE. socialization and culture wasn't a thing in my youth.
it wasn't until the latter half of the 90's that i adopted these habits
and it wasn't until the early 2000's that i ever met other people in that vein.
the last i recall, one was working in retail, and one was driving a bus.

i've worked with others who didn't know i knew who they were
and i left it at that
