For me, it's a combination of being fascinated by aircraft as a kid and wanting to be a fighter pilot. Once upon a time in 2001, I discovered the anthro fandom.

If one is not a Car or Aircraft Nut ... why WOULD they get it?

Aerodynamic Cars and Aircraft DO have inherent curves that apply well to anthromophicization though.

The same question could be asked of, "Why anthropomorphic animals? Why not just Humans?"

It boils down to the purpose behind "Anthropomorphic" as a concept. ... whatever that is.

It's kind of like the allure some people have with their females having dicks almost the size of one of their legs...

I think part of the allure is the simple concept of making an anthro version of something. The 'sexy' or whatever else is actually secondary to that. You thinking this is weird or hard to understand is like someone who is a brony thinking your interest in non pastel colored anthro horses is weird, when there's really not that much of a difference.

Many people love airplanes for various reasons, they find them sleek and beautiful and seeing a picture of them anthromorphed by coming alive is like a dream. For having sex different vehicles vary from different artists. Some are anthropomorphed others are literally vehicles and others are altered in a form of a bird etc. For people who work on planes most will want to fuck them or sometimes be fucked. As for dragons fucking planes that eludes me. It really comes down to perspective.

I don't know what got me into it. They're just pretty. Granted, it also has to be far more humanoid than looking like an actual vehicle, the latter being the stuff I can't see good. I guess it's just kind of a thing that sprouted up. *shrug*
