I can't know how much certain losses have hit you this year. But I know how bad Carrie's death has to have hit you, because she was a huge icon to me. But I don't think she'd want to be too sad: she did everything she could to be strong and live on, in spite of her demons; I like to believe she was trying to cling on to the very end. I think she'd want to take her strength and the enjoyment she tried to find in life and move forward.

The sad truth is the big names we grew up with are getting older and are getting to a point where years like 2016 in terms of celebrity deaths will be numerous again. But I think they'd all want us to remember them more for who they were and what they brought into our lives, and to remember there will always be the good with the bad.

I'm shit with words a lot of times. I think you know that particular. And sometimes I don't think things through. For you, I know 2016 will probably be a year you can never look back on happily, but..I don't know.

I agree: Lenard Nimoy, Anton Yelchin, Carrie Fisher... rough year for sci-fi. And I hear more names every few months.

Nimoy was February 2015, though. Almost two years, as weird as that is. That was nice of them to honor his passing in ST: Beyond, though.

I get what you mean, though. It just sucks so many icons are getting older.
