Goals for 2017
2017 is nearly here, a good excuse for a fresh start and to look forward to the coming year. I'm hoping it will go well.
It's already shaping up to be an interesting one, as I'll possibly be moving home next year (if not, then definitely the year after), thanks to a recently approved regeneration scheme that will see where I currently live demolished in a few years or so. Moving will be a lot of hassle, but since I'll be getting a compensation payment for having to move as well as new and very likely better place to live, I'm kind of okay with it.
But beyond that, I do have a number of goals for next year:
Try to be more sociable.
I want to do my best to make new friends and reconnect with ones I have drifted apart from over time. I also eventually want to find new love. The only way I'm going to manage these things is to be more open and sociable, something I sometimes have trouble with.
Clear my commissions backlog.
Yeah, this one has been on my plate for many years at this point. But the progress I made during this year has left me optimistic that next year I might at last clear my commissions backlog. Whether or not I get as far as taking on new commissions remains to be seen.
Get back into writing.
I definitely want to do much more writing next year, as I have so many half-finished stories and ideas that I want to get written. I want to try and get into the habit of doing at least some writing every day. It won't be easy, but I intend to try.
Finish something for publication.
I really want to become a published writer, I have done for a long long time, and I think it's about time I stopped beating around the bush and pursued that goal. As such, it is my aim to have finished writing a novel by the end of next year, something that I can start trying to get published. Exactly what it will be I haven't decided yet, as I have several ideas /projects that I could use for this.
Overhaul my web site.
I've got this niggling urge to give my web site a bit of a redesign, maybe remove some aspects of it, add some new ones. Compared to my other goals for next year, this is kind of low priority, but something I'd still like to accomplish.

I hope things go wonderfully for you next year :)
