I learned recently that there was a circus training school less than a mile away from my house. I'm very interested in taking classes there once I have the money (we'll see how this summer goes selling my woodcarvings at the Oklahoma Ren Faire), but for the time being I sent them an E-mail asking to coach their summer camp program. I met with them last Friday to teach one of their Winter camp classes as a sort of interview, and then I went again on Saturday to teach two acrobatics classes and take one acrobatics class.

Now, here's the thing. I don't know acrobatics. I saw it when I was in circus years ago, but I never did it. I juggle, and I teach summer camps. I've been doing doing camps for 11 summers in a row now, but never acrobatics. The second day they met with me they had me teaching acrobatics, thankfully with another teacher. Apparently they felt that one class was enough because I'll definitely be working their summer camp and I'll be a sub for the acrobatics coach I worked with last weekend. On one day of experience. I really really hope they don't listen to me teach because I KNOW I'll be saying a lot of stuff that doesn't make a lick of sense.

But I'm in a circus! Mostly. I teach circus to kids. If I'm lucky they'll let me take more classes. And if I'm REALLY lucky I'll make good money this summer and be able to afford their regular classes.
