Give me fuel! Give me fire! Give that which I desire! Ok, first of all, let me tell you all one thing, and that is you all missed out on one great con.
Funny enough though this is a con I only found out about like two weeks before it was happening, and I don't know why, there should have been more people talking about it.
Now yes, it was a first year con, so it was light in attendance. If I remember correctly it was just shy of a hundred peeps. Small indeed, but not a bad thing, mainly because it being a bigger con you really got to know people attending on a more personal level through seeing them each day and interacting.
Now I've been to IFC, MFM, and the largest being MFF. Yes, larger cons do have a bit more to offer, but from this con I came away with what felt a chunk missing...a piece of myself left behind. Only way I can describe why is because over the weekend we all had time to become close and almost family like, something I have come not come away with from any other con.
I even did something at this con I haven't done at any other, and that's volunteer. Donating money is one thing, but ones time is a whole new ball park. I volunteered as a member of security, this of course allowing me to get close to members of staff and hang with them.
The hotel as well, it was great! Wonderful place, complete with dining, bar, and even a creek with fish in it running through the lobby. There was hot breakfast in the morning, and in the evening between the hours of 5:30 and 7:30 there were free drinks! Not regular ones though, alcoholic ones. Like I said, you missed out if you didn't go. I mean come on, alcohol and furries go together like ebony and ivory, peanut butter and jelly, even foxes and Bad Dragons. And the food! Good lord I ate like no tomorrow there. I don't think I ate as much as I did on Thanksgiving OR Christmas. Usually I come away from cons having lost weight, but this one I'm sure I gained it...
Another part I loved about the hotel were the rooms. Unlike most cons that more or less have one room with bed and everything with a bathroom to the side, this actually had a living space, and a damn nice counter with a sink, fridge, and microwave. And get this, it was like half as much as the room I paid for at MFF.
I mean, come on guys and gals, this con was awesome...other then the fire alarm going off at two in the morning one night. But the good part was it wasn't anyone from our group that did it! It was actually a malfunction on the hotels part, but I was still up at the time so it didn't bother me any.
To close this out though, I highly, HIGHLY recommend going next year if it's held again. The con did not fill it's block this year so it's on shaky ground for if it happens again, and if the same thing happens next year then for sure it won't happen again. So please...if you have the chance then go to it. even if it does snow again, which is a reason some didn't show, but come on, not even an inch of a dusting of snow is gonna keep you away from having the time of your life? Please.
I know I will do my hardest to go again next year, and you can bet your little belly button on that.
I am going to say I enjoyed every second there. Every second. And I highly encourage you to try and attend, from the bottom of my heart and deepest of feels. And I say feels because I tear up slightly typing this, and the Post Con Depression is hitting hard right now.
Love you all, and God bless.

I tell folks pretty often that volunteering at a convention is an entirely new realm of enjoyment and satisfaction compared to simply attending a convention, but they think I'm just trying to get them to work. ;P But it is so very, very true! I adore working conventions! <3
You and I both had running jobs, so the little time we were both in the same place at the same time, and I wasn't doing paperwork was rare. LOL But it was awesome getting to spend what little time we could together, you seem pretty awesome! <3
I can't wait for next year! <3
For a small con, things were kept quite busy, I can't imagine what it would be like to volunteer for a BIGGER con. XD
And I can't wait either. <3
