Lord, I meant to make this journal at new years. Crazy how many DAMN things get in your way when you're trying to do something. But at last! A new journal after a year!

Where've I been? At work for the most part, only taking in the occasional con. The art? Well...lets just say I've found other things to put money into...just as wasteful though!

To explain it more in depth, I've suspended the purchasing of all art in the last year. Which really sucks because I've had numerous people I love to get art with reach out and inquire about getting a piece together. And I hate having to turn them down! But I can only afford so many expensive hobbies at a time. I've even foregone buying firearms for the most part!

Gasp! I know!

What have I been spending money on?

A racecar!

That's right, I'm officially becoming a race horse! I bought a roller early last year with the thoughts of having it going a couple months later. But, like most money pits, things escalated from there. Needless to say, it wasn't done till the season was over. So! This year I plan on racing hot and heavy in my area. There will be some test in tunes in March and April with the regular season starting in May.

"Why buy a racecar???" I hear you all saying. Well...I've been going to tracks since I was a newborn. Some of my earliest memories are being at the track with my family watching my dad race. With him being in his 70's now, I figured now was better than ever to race while he was alive. I've wanted to do it since I was a kid, but coming from a family that didn't have much money to begin with, it's come down to me and me alone to fund it. It wasn't until a few years ago I got a position at work where I could even begin to fathom affording a car and running a regular season.

So! With me now having to fund a car to run, I had to more or less give up the art game. Maybe if I get someone that wants to do art for me for free I'll accept? But unless I give up racing or hit it big in crypto, I'll be suspending any art purchases till further notice. Sorry if you followed me for that, but I want to try and win a race while my dad is still around. That's more important than art.

Now because I am no longer getting art does not mean I will be out of the fandom as a whole. I still plan on going to cons! I went to MFM and MFF last year and thoroughly enjoyed both. I had plans to go to GFM, but the budget was not there for it last year. Maybe this year I can hit up all three, though.

But just because I am no longer getting art does not mean I will no longer upload. I still having a sizeable backlog I haven't uploaded. I promise I will get it at some point! Just...need time to sort through them and upload.
