Welcome back. It's good to hear you'll be working on your comic again.

Thanks, I've been doing some editing in the story to try and make it more focused.

While I gave up comics years ago, the job is in danger of killing more of my art life. It's taking me longer to get pics done.

I've started to play with Blender. I had dreams of making my own characters in 3D so that all I have to do is pose them and make the scenery. That way all of it blends well together and I could get it done faster. Seeing how to model them is a bit daunting and I'll probably never get around to it. I want to but work often doesn't grant me time.

Also, the whole UV unwrapping thing is scary. I wish I could afford apps like 3DS Max, Maya or Cinema 4D but they run a few thousand dollars. I'll probably end up using Blender to make rocks, trees, waterfalls or all of them in a scene.

I'll probably never make my own 3D characters. Time and patience are the enemy.

Btw, I see you faved a really old pic. I thought no one goes back that far.

I understand, personally I just love the idea of telling a story. I love doing 3d work. I do wish it wasn't so expensive for the programs.I've never worked with blender, just maya and max and to be honest maya feels more natural. UV mapping is a pain in the ass. No way around it.

Yeah I've been out of the lop for a while so I tend to go back on some of my favorite artists and see what I've missed.

I keep wanting to try to make a character but it's time and the urge to learn. It seems like 3D characters would just make my art longer to make. I wish I could have the time to try the 3DS Max demo but by the time I figure it out the demo will be over. If I did everything 3D the whole scene would blend so well together. If only I could cheat on the characters.
