Life update!
Hey all, long time no see!
Life's been keeping me busy these past couple years, so much so that it perpetually gets to the point where I just forget to be social and let everyone know I'm alive, aheh, so here I am to say hi and let everybody know what's going on with me!
I'm about a year and a half into my career path as an automotive technician, currently just a lube tech for the time being, and it's probably 90% of the reason I'm absent, because I'm in the ballpark of nearly 50 hours a week :Y My job isn't exactly the most relaxing thing ever, (it actually sucks tremendous ass) so that 50 hours feels like all week x_x I've learned a lot though! And despite how frustrating it can be some days, I'm really hoping the time I spent with my nose to the grindstone will pay off later in life.
It's definitely paid off in the short term! I started the job neck-deep in debt, but all that time is starting to turn back the tide and I'm pretty okay with that :3
My second home has been the gym! I've been powerlifting for a couple years now and neglected to mention it here, I think? Oops lmao. My first competition is coming up at the end of this month, and I'll be competing in the 183lbs weightclass. Wish me luck!
On the few days that I'm not working, or not working out, or both, I'm home either a) passed out asleep, b) sitting on my butt and playing video games, or c) writing when I can!
I'm perpetually embarrassed that it takes me so long to put out any consistent work, but now that I've settled in a career path, with a set schedule, and I'm not freaking out over numbers in my bank accounts, I can hopefully start dedicating more time to writing consistently. I've set aside every Tuesday night to write, and so far it's yielded results!
Remember that last story I posted, a little diddy called Why You Shouldn't Pick A Fight With A Werewolf? The second chapter has a rough draft finish ;] I'm slowly whittling away at a first draft, and I've had a little art commissioned for it too!
On a more serious note, I'd like to take a second and talk about my attempts at joining the Air Guard, something I've been trying to do since I got out of highschool. I think it's fair to say, in nearly six or seven years of trying to get into some branch of the military, that they don't really want me. I've got a history of mental health dating back to as early as freshman in college, and my local base is full to the brim. That, and given our, uh...recent change in Presidents, I'm not too keen on joining at this point in my life, aheh.
Never say never, though! I'll always consider the possibility. But for now, it's probably a smarter move to continue grinding out my career as a mechanic. Life is a fickle thing, you never know what'll happen haha.
So, that's what I've been up to! Busy busy busy. I'd like to write more, and commission more art for these characters I've been cooking up lately, and hopefully that'll happen soon. Thanks for reading if you made it this far, and I hope you're all doing well out there <3
