Hey, don't whan to bother you too much, but I'm in process of learning English, thought asking some thing would be helpful for me.
In this post, do you mean that you need to think about, how you will devide all you money from your salary on live goods and art stuff? something like that?
I keep a budget for myself, based on how many hours I expect to work during a pay period. I get paid every two weeks, and I make an hourly wage.
From that budget I have "fixed bills," amounts that don't change much, are due every month, and can be easily scheduled. These are mostly my rent, my student loan payment, car payment, phone, and internet. None of these amounts change, and I've scheduled them so they're divided between paychecks almost evenly.
Power, water bills vary month to month, but I plan for them to be high when I make my budget.
I plan for food, gas each week.
Once those are taken care of, I look at what is left over. Some goes into savings, every check. I have two savings accounts. The rest is "fun money," that I tell myself I can spend on things like art. That becomes my Art Fund, which I will spread out over several of you fine artists.
Oh, yes, I do things like that too! Only distinction is that my salary is small payments that commissioners do for me (like you x)), so I plan budget a little different - put a some amount of money in each category that I should pay for (my apartment, food and fun stuff, for now it is cosplay actually). I repeat this for every amount I get. The only problem is that not really reliable, who nows how much I would make next month? But, well, life is hard, yolo, I wish for freelance and I do it now 0:
Thank you for such detailed answer! Also, if you dont mind, I want to ask - how do you have car and house, and still is a student? Is this like you second education? Or maybe your relativies help you with all that? I'm so interested cause in countrys like russia (or belarus wich i live in) people usually dont have there own home and car in young age (obly really rich ones), or dont go for extra education in college|university cause thay dont have time for that, or just dont like to study.
I did have help when I was still in school. I stayed at my parents' place while I was in school. They helped me with a car, which became my brother's when I bought mine. I bought a small, basic car when I graduated, because I wanted something new and reliable.
I'm renting an apartment right now. Once I'm done paying back the money I borrowed from the government to go to school (engineering degree) then I'll start looking at buying a house. Going to make sure my car is paid off by then too.
I often wish I could budget more money for artists, but I have a lot of other pressures for my money, especially right now. :/
Wow, thank you! That was interesting information from the other country x3
good luck with your bills and stuff, hope pressier with them will get easier on you
