that hard disk was already waving goodbye, so... should have seen it coming

I mean like that it wasn't anything too serious that you lost. however it makes me wander if it was in a raid array

I don't think so.

All I know is I have a main SSD and the two HDD. One with 1tb (wich is the one that died and will be replaced by a new, empty one) and another one with 500GB that has an improvised backup of my old PC.

Got another external disk (quite old) where I keep all the less sued files and I use for backups from tiem to time, and ANOTHER hard disk that si basically one of my first ones transformed into an external one

So I'll have to check them all and do some cleaning when I have my PC back

Any advice? Are SSD good?

RIP... the same thing happened to mine about a year ago, I only got less than 1% of the data back, and it was still expensive...

yeah, that's the problm: you pay a lot for it, and it's still usnure if you can get all of it back

so, do you have a backup hard drive? did you save some of your files on a cloud. Will you be back online soon o.o
