So my prior journal and scrap post were removed...
I always read every comment even if I don't respond!
Please read to the end of the journal!
Big thank you to everyone who commented. I was very happy to see others shared such strong feelings on the subject and I wish I could have properly read and responded (as I had planned for the weekend). Regrettably I didn't save the journal as I did not foresee it being removed. Looking back however I'm guessing some keywords mentioned in it were flagged (or my account was being watched however unlikely) and it with my accompanying scrap post were removed.
Did I break the rules by posting a screenshot? Yes
Did I break the rules by posting a link to pornographic material? Technically yes, though common opinion says that it's not CP
I understand that some people like clear cut rules while others prefer case by case. If there are to be clear cut rules then I think there should be sub rules that allow certain material. I disagree that 2 entire subjects (birth and breastfeeding) are 100% banned because of some bad apples. I get that IMVU is a company that has to protect itself, especially since FA is (probably) considered a porn site and anything involving a minor makes things touchy.
When FA banned CP that was awesome. It was a subject I think is safe to say that many people could agree was not ok. Many CP artists left on their own will, or their FA business dried up so they left... those that tried to stay and hide their material were weeded out by the community. Are there still bad apples lurking? Of course! But I'm ok with that because they're outlaws and on the run, the minute they slip up the community will flag them.
Birth and breastfeeding on the other hand... well I've been drinking at a work party and probably will ramble my opinions... is it safe to say that you all can assume what my feelings are on the matter? I think this blanket ban is bullshit.
So here's the kicker (or at least the final one in this journal)
I have a Warning Notice (1st Offense), and I'm not keen on getting more...
Code of Conduct, Section 1.10 - Do not post links to content prohibited by Fur Affinity's policies
Acceptable Upload Policy: Section 4.1 - Screenshots of applications, etc, etc
Which means I can't post a screencap of the note that I deemed as including a threat NOR can I post a link to the image that I dispute is not CP NOR can I post a link to the screencap on my dA account because screencaps are classified as prohibited content (by AUP Section 4.1) and Section 1.10 prohibits me from linking to material that breaks FA's AUP
YOU SEE HOW OUT OF HAND THIS CAN GET!? By posting a link to a screencap you break the rules. Though I seriously question if this loop will be enforced unless it "threatens the establishment".
So while I can't link you to anything I CAN say this...
1) Go to my dA page http://geckoguy123456789.deviantart.com/
2) Search my gallery for 'newborn' to find the image that sparked this whole shitstorm
3) Search my gallery for 'screenshot' to find the 2 notes I received today
4) Comment below as you see fit, I promise I'll read them all
See this IMVU? I'm playing by your game and not linking to material... I'm simply giving instructions on how to find it (which I see nowhere in the rules)

FA+

The admins on here honestly can be really douchey at times, but unfortunately for us we can't really do much about it...

One the one hand, rules are rules. As someone having done mod stuff elsewhere in the past, I get that. And as I said last time, there's constantly those stupid arsehats trying to circumvent rules (no cub porn) by excusing "Oh it's just breast feeding!" or something like that. It makes on sick and tired when you keep getting to see people (trying to) pulling off stuff like that.
On the other hand... eeeehhhh. I want to side with you there, but meh, rules are rules, sadly. Not much one can do.
In ANY case, though, don't let that discourage you from posting more arts. I like your stuff and really hope seeing more of it in the future (maybe even get myself something from you :p) and you stopping because of this would be a a sad day. :c
Well it's a good thing plenty of people have spoken up about it and voiced their displeasure, because this cropped up:

Fair enough there are times when rules are rules, and nothing can be done. But sometimes, rules are also bullshit. (to put it as blunt as possible xD)
No, you're not supposed to be okay with it just because it's a rule. But, for the most part, rules like these do good stuff too - let's not get taken away here. That doesn't help in cases lile these obviously and I do disagree with the decisions having been made by staff here, bedause in this particular, it's stupid. It does set up a sign that something needs to get changed.
The problem is still the people trying to circumvent this rule by similar points, putting everyone in a bad spot - the 'legit' artists as much as the staff. If one person asks to be an exception, you suddenly get an awful lot of people doing the same - good AND bad people. And this is what makes official nahndling of this situation so difficult, because then people can come and ask 'They got an exception, why not me?' - and then a staff member has a problem: keep throwing exceptions to eventually subvert the rule or pissing off the 'good' artists, especially if a 'bad' one got an exception?
The intention of the rule is mighty fine in my opinion. Just it's current state is a little... 'subotimal'. I do hope this will get a favourable outcome in this case either way, though.
But even so I'm still not entirely sure what you're getting at? Are you saying that the outcome we're hoping for is that legit artists get exception from the rule? Because that's not what anyone is asking for.
All anyone wants is to be able to post breast feeding and birthing. Really it's not that complicated to set the rules as such that those things are allowed, but cub porn isn't.
And the blanket ban shows how haphazardly it was put into place.
The intention of the rule is anything but fine, considering the circumstances surrounding it along with how clumsily it's been put up.
Stopping cub porn from being posted is fine. Banning breast feeding and birth is not, and that's the issue (like I need to reiterate that, but it seems the points been missed). It's because of that dumb blanket ban and the broad rule why people are up in arms over this, because it was done about as poorly as a Beethoven farted out in a tin elevator.
Links to screencaps are generally okay, actually, long as it doesn't violate other rules; we're looking at clarifying that rule. If you're posting a screencap of a note directly from a staff member and include anything that identifies that staff member, that would not be permitted, but otherwise if you want to link a screencap of a removal notice that would not be grounds for action.
