I finally got my broken iPod replaced yesterday and I have to say it's nice being able to carry my music around wherever I go.
Those of you who've seen my fur name and understand what a Staccato is have probably guessed that music is something very important to me.
It is. :P
I've always loved music. I can still recall when I was maybe 4 or 5 sitting in the passenger seat of my mom's car listening to "Johnny B. Goode" performed by Chuck Berry on the CD player. ^_^ That was probably the first song I ever learned to sing.

Despite my young age, I like to think that my generation was during the 70s or earlier. I never really liked the stuff my fellow adolescents called "music" when I was growing up. Grunge? Boy Bands? Hip-Hop? All that crap did was make me envy the deaf. Instead, I kept my CD case stocked with Billy Joel, Alice Cooper, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Who, Van Halen, and Fusion bands like Return to Forever, Weather Report, and Mahavishnu Orchestra.
While my peers bashed their heads against walls to Speed Metal, I'd be sitting back and letting my mind get my blown to other worlds by the godlike sounds of Al Di Meola's guitar (who by the way is considered the leading pioneer of shred guitar.)
I just can't wait to fill up this new iPod ^_^

FA+

I try to keep mine at a low, around 15-25% of the total volume.
This way, I actually keep my hearing.
But I feel ya on past music.
I'm not particularly fond of today's music either, and I'll be overjoyed if I can find an music composer or artist or band that doesn't talk about money or making love in a beatbox fashion.
I'm more of 90s and early 2000, because it's when metal and orchestral combined in an epic fashion.
