Job Hunting is More Depressing than Kitten / Puppy Coleslaw

It really is...
Now that I've graduated from college with two incredibly useless degrees (Creative Writing and Studio Art), I can *shudder* get a real job. I'd really like to be an editor for a publishing house but the few companies that even bother to return my inquiry letters say they're on a hiring freeze. Local businesses aren't much better: I failed to get a job at the supermarket, library, restaurants, even my old job at the framing store wouldn't take me back. It truly is a great time to be graduating.
My Dad is really getting on my case, too. He assumes that since I haven't been called about any interviews, I'm not looking hard enough. He keeps rewriting my resume and cover letters. My fat old neighbor with a bad comb-over, a Hawaiian t-shirt, an ever present glass of wine, and like 5 businesses never ceases to remind me how he was the manager of his own business at my age. It's real frustrating but it helps to know that there are tens of thousands of other grads going through the same problems so the universe is not picking on me alone. None of my friends seem to have jobs. Half of them are going to grad school not really to get a degree but to just wait out the economic slump. In the meantime, I've been helping my parents with yard work X(
Some good news: the relatives have been very generous with their wallets and I've been able to obtain my first computer: a 15" MacBook Pro. My college struck a deal with Adobe, so I was able to get the Design Suite, about $1,700 worth of software for about $300. However, I still don't have a scanner so while I have several new works sketched and inked, they won't be online for a while. For those people I have promised art: thanks for your patience; please wait a little longer.
Now that I have my own computer, I've downloaded Second Life. I go by the name "Jaroq Firecaster" there. I've already purchased one of Icewolf's spectacular muscle bods and I'm struggling to color it. Does anybody have some good tiger stripe textures? Also, I somehow deleted the eyes and can't get them back. O_o My character is pretty sorry looking right now but I'm still very new to the program.
I make no guarantees that I'll constantly be on SL or IM, though. I'm busy job hunting and I do believe it or not have a life in the real world.
Along with a computer, I have also obtained a guinea pig named Waffles XD. I'm crazy for guinea pigs. They're incredibly stupid but they're so funny and adorable. I love their little week-weeking noises and the way they move. A girl at my mother's work was looking to get rid of one so I adopted the little guy. He's dark brown with the ruffled "rosette" fur. He's also extremely timid; I've only been able to pet him a few times. He'll come around eventually.
FUTURE PROJECTS:
1. "How to Draw" Jaroq
2. Jaroq action figure
3. a group shot of my favorite cats from cartoons and TV
P.S. Did I mention it rained during my graduation?
Talk to you all later,
