You can use local textures instead of uploading new ones every time you make changes, this is useful bc it auto updates them texture in world whenever you save the file! I also recommend PAWS heads as they are incredibly user friendly and help with people new to modding.

I always use a test map to map out the texture while I'm making it - https://community.secondlife.com/im.....B88F662C9E.png !! Apply it to the piece you're texturing to use as reference for how the texture is like.. wrapped while opening it up in your drawing program & draw on top of it! Since it takes a lot of troubleshooting, don't pay to upload it until you're done with the texture. You can test it by right clicking>edit ( on the item) and opening the texture select from there, switching to local & just using the local file! Though be sure to upload it once you're done or it won't actually be visible for others. Hopefully this is explained alright, I'm on mobile right now ^^;

though it's been mentioned before use local textures. everytime you save it as png (always use png unless tga is required) it'll auto update the texture. also save as sai/psd often too just in case you notice a mistake after uploading you can go back and fix it

i recommend kemono or kuroo and paws for a starting point. everything else is a little trickier and nerve racking
