Should dragons be..... [CLOSED]

Calm, serene, mindful and wards of their elemental home lands
or
Rash, power-hungry, arrogant and seeking those who will worship and serve them

You're totally right!
Hope you've been well!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
totally think they can do both, depending on the race and differently from individual to individual
It would be reductive to reconnect such magnificient creatures to one standard preset model
It will be hard to rival Sire, just so you know
just how I like 'em!
And we don't have to be power hungry most of the time, cuz if people are smart they just naturally subjugate themselves to avoid being eaten. But that only works on non-dragons because unfortunately dragons are as-mentioned too damn arrogant :V
calm and majestic is far too modest for us! well, there needs to be a balance.
there's no point in being majestic and staying quiet when there's an opportunity for us to flaunt our strength and power to solve the matter at hand.
likewise being arrogant all the time is just grating. it's all about shining at just the right moment :3
there's satisfaction to be had in keeping the true extent of your powers hidden. if human recognize and treat us with respect, good. if humans or non-dragons challenge us, that's when we unleash the hottest depths of our fury
I for one wouldn't mind either of those, myself...
For the moment, my feelings urge me more towards the latter with you...
I think Eastern dragons or Angel dragons fit more on the friendly side.
Like the rain, there are times of serene calm as the water washes over the lands and nurtures them, and then there are times of storms with lashing winds and striking thunder.
Teryx overdose.
Probably
Something truly serene cannot be like the rest, else it is in conflict with the rest.
Something truly powerful cannot be like the rest, else it is in balance with the rest.
A nice oxymoron for the morning.
Dangnabbit! I had hoped to keep my mysterious little two-piece shrouded in mystery. But I guess "rest" in itself is a bit too ambitious a word, what with all the meanings it wants to cover, for me to just let it loose.
First thing first, I need to say that in order for what I said to be true, you have to take into account the semantic more than the literal: also, connotation's an important one!
Few words to dissect: serene, conflict, powerful, balance, rest...
So, when I say "rest," I mean "all other dragons." You could extend this to "all other species," but fuck it, let's just go with the dragons.
"Serene" is calmness, a meditative sort of state. I find it interesting how serenity can become conflicting when there's too much of it, personally. If you think about it, all emotional qualities are relative: they are abnormal, as opposed to normal. It is with variation than relativity has any relevance in the world. So, if everything is serene, serenity is a norm, and there's no counter-example for a word describing abnormality to be created in the first place.
In a nutshell: absolute serenity is an oxymoron, meaning it is in conflict with itself. And, just to think, serenity could be "conflicting" in any way is kinda... funny, imo.
OK! Fast forward...
Same flow of logic with power. Relative qualities. If something abnormal, or extreme, becomes too normal, there's no counter-example; thus, the "extreme" does not exist. So sustained, or absolute, power becomes normal. In other words, "balanced." Another antonym for the unsuspecting word... le gasp.
But here's my point!
If someone tries too much to adhere a description, or a definition, pursued by "the rest of dragons," and if "the rest of dragons" are pursuing that description or definition to describe/define themselves too, they become stereotypically the same.
And so, I would argue, that in order in order for anyone (ok, any-dragon, since we're sticking with that) to be a truly strong example of powerful or serene or any other description, their personality in itself needs to defy or to be different from "the rest of dragons" typically perceived as these things. Else, they just fall into a norm, which doesn't convey "power" or "serenity" to its fullest extent, nawmean?
I'm really trying my best to explain this w/o my morning coffee...
Overused meanings become meaningless, and then require new words or phrases to fill the original meanings. (That's the semantic side.)
But also, subjects of overused meanings require similar things, in order to find new meaning for themselves: new habits, new ways to satisfy the same needs and desires, etc.
If any of that makes a thimble of sense. >_>
Which piece is the perfect example of the way you like me, may I ask?
Accark, my darling, is a sweet soul, with deep curious nature, profound need to keep his peachy fluff fur clean, is submissive, but only to his alpha. On the other side he bites nastily if you surprise him, does not give in in an argument, except his alpha, is loud and reckless sometimes and you do not want to fight him alas he freezes the blood in your veins. Literally.
So have fun with yours :)
and that's his story - https://lcaisling.wordpress.com/rea.....-3/rare-pearl/
*sits you down on his nice warm raincloud*
But depens from subject to subject.
By the way what's with some of the text being purple.
Hmmm, it seems that my tailtip goes a little ways further than yours~
